We have a "Traveller" Computer Link with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, which gives up-to-date foreign travel advice. On request, this system can produce a printed leaflet containing specific advice on immunisations as well as general suggestions on health care abroad
Travel Packs for the prevention of HIV/Hep B are also available. We are registered as a Yellow Fever Centre. For further details and cost of travel advice and immunisations please see the Nurse Reception.
To help us offer appropriate travel advice, please fill out the form below and submit to the Nurse Receptionist in person for processing. When the form is received you will be given an appointment with the Practice Nurse, if when the information is run and it is found no vaccinations are required the appointment will be cancelled and you will be informed.
It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 8 weeks before you travel - especially at peak times - as most vaccinations need to be administered at least 2 weeks before travel, but some may need at least a month.

There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below
Some travel vaccines are not available on the NHS and require a private prescription. These vaccines incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge.
Our local NHS stop smoking service is Quit4Life, providing friendly, effective help for anyone who would like to kick the habit. No matter how long you have been smoking or how many times you have tried before you will benefit from giving up - and Quit4Life makes it a lot easier!
Even if you are not sure whether you are ready to make a quit attempt we would urge you to contact them to find out what they offer. Their friendly advisers can guide you through the whole process, talking through any concerns along the way - getting ready to quit, discussing medication options, arranging the supply of your chosen stop smoking products and providing regular support and encouragement until you are confident about remaining smoke free. Feedback from regular monitoring of your carbon monoxide levels will also help demonstrate how quickly your body starts to benefit from stopping completely.
They offer both one-to-one appointments and drop-in clinics at venues all over the locality. If you are unable to attend regular sessions you can enrol for telephone support, with your adviser ringing you at agreed times.
For more information go to www.quit4life.nhs.uk or ring 0845 6024663.
